September 15th: Understanding Your Emotional Intelligence

Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver - Chartwell Room, 791 West Georgia Street

Thursday 11:30am - 1:00 pm

The Ability-Based Model of Emotional Intelligence

With emotions playing a critical role in our decisions and actions, wouldn’t it be helpful to be able to objectively measure our emotions in some way? This is what the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT™) does. The MSCEIT™ is like an IQ test for emotions. Emotional intelligence (EI) allows project practitioners to interact effectively with each other, to achieve valuable problem solving results, and make optimal decisions. This presentation will present an overview of a four-year research study to discover and understand emotional intelligence (EI), and its impact on managing and leading projects.

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the ability-based model of emotional intelligence,
  • Develop an action step to strengthen their emotional intelligence abilities.
